England vs Latvia Tips

Tip 1

England’s skipper should feature prominently in this one-sided affair on Monday night.

The former Tottenham striker let off four shots on Friday night, three of which hit the target and the fourth off target shot coming from a headed effort which he should have rippled the net with.

Latvia will employ a low block and look to ride out as much of the match without allowing England to break the deadlock, meaning Tuchel’s side will have to create openings from a multitude of areas, including crosses into the box.

Kane has had 36 shots using his head so far this season, with nine of those coming while wearing the Three Lions on his chest.

Tip 2

Kane got his customary goal against Albania and will undoubtedly have come away from that match believing he should have scored more than just once given the number of opportunities he was granted.

He’s netted five headers for Bayern Munich this term, with three coming in the Bundesliga and two inside the Champions League.

England Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge as the Three Lions boss was a routine 2-0 win over Albania, with goals from debutant Miles Lewis-Skelly and stalwart captain Harry Kane.

The German is likely to rotate his line up to get a better assessment of the squad at his disposal. Anthony Gordon looks to be the only absentee after withdrawing from the squad with a hip injury.

England Predicted XI: Pickford; James, Guehi, Colwill, Livramento; Rice, Henderson; Bowen, Bellingham, Rogers; Kane.

Latvia Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

Paolo Nicolato’s men ran out as 1-0 winners over Andorra in a World Cup qualifier last time out – their first win for five matches since defeating Faroe Islands by the same scoreline back in September 2024 during their Nations League campaign.

The visitors have no new concerns regarding player availability, with Deniss Melniks’ half-time substitute a tactical tweak as opposed to an injury-based decision.

Latvia Predicted XI: Zviedris; Jurkovskis, Balodis, Cernomordijs; Savalnieks, Melniks, Savaljevs, Ciganiks; Zelenkovs, Ikaunieks; Gutkovskis.
