What is the UEFA Nations League?

The inaugural UEFA Nations League will see the top European nations go head to head in a competition designed to help make international ‘friendly’ matches more competitive and interesting.

This will allow nations to compete with equally ranked teams, replacing the friendly matches from previous years. It is split up into League A, League B, League C & League D.

The four group winners of League A qualify for the UEFA Nations League finals in June 2019. The group winners in Leagues B, C and D will win promotion and those who finish bottom of the groups in Leagues A, B and C are relegated.
