Champions League Winner Prediction
Experience cannot be understated when it comes to predicting the eventual winner of the Champions League each season. In total, 23 different clubs have won the Champions League/European Cup, with Manchester City being the only new winner in the last 12 renewals. That’s why we believe Real Madrid look a very favourable price at odds of 9/2, especially given their uncontested firepower in Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.
Top Goalscorer Prediction
The 2024/25 Champions League format has introduced a new league phase, bringing more matches than ever to the competition. This gives top goalscorer backers even more bang for their buck, allowing players more opportunities to score. As is always the case, your bet stands more of a choice of winning if your selection is afforded more longevity by playing for a team who are expected to go deep into the tournament. With that said, market favourite Harry Kane is a proven goalscorer at every single level of elite football and looks to be spearheading a young, vibrant Bayern Munich side under Vincent Kompany.
Player of the Season Prediction
Vinicius Jr helped steer Real Madrid to a 15th Champions League title and was duly awarded with the 2023/24 Champions League Player of the Season gong as a result. You can imagine that the prize will be gifted to a player who plays for the eventual winners, meaning that we’re siding with Vini Jr to produce a repeat for our prediction for the 2024/25 Player of the Season.
Young Player of the Season Prediction
Jude Bellingham was named as the 2023/24 Champions League Young Player of the Season, where in his first season he won the tournament, scored four goals, provided five assists and became only the third Real Madrid player to score in his first two UCL games with the club. Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal had a stellar Euro 2024 and has the world at his feet despite being a tender age of just 17, making him a standout selection for the 2024/25 Champions League Young Player of the Season.
What Are the Most Popular Champions League Bets?
Popular Champions League bets include various punts on outright markets such as the winner and top goalscorer, then on match specific selections, bet builders and same-game multis are increasingly popular betting options that people use to squeeze extra juice out of through low stakes and high odds.
When Are Our Champions League Tips Available?
Our Champions League match previews tend to go live at least 24 hours before a match’s kick-off time, with the aim of posting previews somewhere between 24 hours and 48 hours ahead of the chosen fixture. We here on Football Tips also follow a similar schedule when it comes to publishing tips on relevant pages, such as accumulators tips, bet of the day and correct score predictions.
Are There Any Specific Markets That Tend to Offer Better Value in the Champions League?
With the Champions League’s new league phase format, clubs now play at least eight fixtures in the competition and some unfamiliar faces in the tournament means there are now wider betting opportunities and more value to be had by punters. Take a team like Aston Villa for example, they’ve already beaten Bayern Munich at Villa Park and were a fantastic price to do so.
Since underdogs can have more success in a refreshed format like this, general markets such as win-draw-win, BTTS, over/under 2.5 goals and various player prop markets, like player shots on targets, players to be carded and anytime goalscorers, can look and feel overpriced in certain fixtures.
How Does the Champions League Work?
The reformed Champions League format from 2024 onwards sees the old group stage system of eight groups of four replaced with a league phase consisting of an increased 36 participating clubs in which all competing clubs are ranked together. Teams play eight matches against eight different trams, playing half of those matches at home and half away.
The top eight sides in the league automatically qualify for the round of 16, while the teams who finish in 9th to 24th will compete in a two-legged knock-out phase play-off to confirm a place in the last-16. Teams that finish 25th or lower are eliminated and are no longer granted access to the Europa League. The tournament then follows the existing structure of its knockout phase, with a round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
