Denmark vs Spain Betting Tips

Setting The Scene: A new era is about to begin for Denmark, who announced Brian Riemer as their new permanent head coach on October 24th.

Riemer had a four-year spell at Brentford working as an assistant to current Bees’ head coach Thomas Frank before moving on to take the number one position at Anderlecht in December 2022.

He guided Anderlecht to third place last season but was sacked after an inconsistent start to the current campaign and was soon identified as an ideal candidate to replace Kasper Hjulmund, who resigned as Denmark’s head coach after Euro 2024.

Riemer inherits a well-drilled side positioned second in Nations League Group A4 having taken seven points from four games.

Denmark have established a three-point advantage over third-placed Serbia, who will be their opposition for next Tuesday’s clash in Leskovac.

A top two finish is Denmark’s priority, although leaders Spain will be overtaken if Riemer’s side are successful by more than one goal.

Tip 1: Denmark or draw double chance @ 19/20 with bet365

Spain are missing some big players, including Rodri and Lamine Yamal, for their final batch of Nations League group stage matches and they might struggle to justify odds-on status against Denmark in Copenhagen.

A share of the spoils would be sufficient for Spain to clinch first place, but they are likely to be drawn into a tough contest by the Danes, who will be eager to impress their new head coach.

It would have been easy for Denmark’s players to let their standards drop in the interim period between Hjulmand’s post Euro 2024 resignation and Riemer’s appointment.

But they opened the Nations League campaign with a pair of 2-0 wins at home to Switzerland and Serbia and are well-placed despite last month’s 1-0 reverse away to Spain.

The Red and Whites have reeled off nine successive competitive home wins and may sense an opportunity to cause an upset against La Roja, who drew 0-0 away to Serbia in September.

Spain had a positive October, registering home wins over Denmark (1-0) and Serbia (3-0), but their powers of resistance may be reduced by the absences of first choice keeper Unai Simon and defenders Dani Carvajal and Pau Torres.

Tip 2: Christian Eriksen to score or assist @ 9/4 with bet365

Christian Eriksen has had to get used to playing a squad role at Manchester United but he remains a hugely influential player for his country and can influence the outcome against Spain by coming up with at least one key moment.

Eriksen’s appearances for United are often from a deeper position than he has been used to for the majority of his career.

However, he plays in a more offensive role for his country and has netted one Nations League goal from 10 goal attempts.

The 32-year-old remains a deadly finisher and looks an overpriced 9/4 shot to deliver a goal or an assist against the Spanish.
