Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Tips

Tip 1

Chelsea have dominated this fixture in recent years, losing just one of the last 16 head-to-head fixtures.

Spurs have been very poor in the league this term, suggesting that they’ll perform no better on Thursday having already thrown away a two-goal lead in North London a few months ago when suffering a 4-3 defeat.

That being said, the Blues haven’t been flawless by any stretch, conceding at home to the likes of Palace, Brentford, Fulham, Wolves and West Ham.

On the flip side, Tottenham have scored in 10/14 away league games, including against Newcastle, Brentford, Man City, Arsenal and Brentford, which are all tough grounds to visit.

Tip 2

This card double begins with Moises Caicedo who has picked up nine yellows in the PL and 10 in total for Chelsea this campaign – the most of any individual from either team.

Five of those have come in his last eight league outings, and the Ecuadorian gave away two fouls in December’s 4-3 win but went unpunished by the referee that day.

For Spurs, Rodrigo Bentancur is the most booked player with seven yellows in the top flight and 11 across all competitions.

He’s been brandished one in two of his last three club appearances, and with both midfields expected to be busy from a high number of turnovers and plenty of attacking intent, this 9/1 double is worth a small punt.

Chelsea Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

It’s been over two weeks since the Blues’ last outing, where title challengers Arsenal handed them a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Mykhailo Mudryk, Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman are all still sidelined with injuries, but Enzo Maresca should be able to call upon Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson once again after the trio returned to training.

Chelsea Predicted XI: Sanchez; James, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson.

Tottenham Hotspur Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

Spurs are also looking to bounce back from a defeat after Fulham produced a 2-0 win over Ange Postecoglou’s side before the international break last month.

The visitors remain without Radu Dragusin in defence, however, they could be bolstered by the returns of Kevin Danso, Richarlison, Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski, who will all be assessed before this clash.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son.
