Liverpool vs Everton Tips

Tip 1

Nine PL teams have come to Anfield and netted at least once this season. They’ve been breached by six of their last seven opponents at home, a list which includes the likes of Leicester City, Manchester United, Ipswich Town, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.

With no right back available to Arne Slot, Everton’s left-sided winger becomes even more important and their ability to stretch the play and utilise the flanks can only benefit them.

BTTS landed in the pair’s most recent Merseyside Derby in February, where a late James Tarkowski strike helped Everton earn a share of the spoils in the final ever matchup at Goodison Park.

Since David Moyes rejoined the club on 11th January, Everton have netted in 10/12 games, only failing to do so at home against Villa and away to Bournemouth.

This run carries goals at the Etihad, Amex, Selhurst Park and the Gtech Community Stadium.

Tip 2

With Mykolenko all but confirmed to be absent here, Ashley Young should get the nod at left back, where he’ll be tasked with shutting out fine wine Mohamed Salah.

Young has six yellows in 25 PL appearances this campaign, and tends to pick up a booking in the higher profile fixtures – Chelsea, Villa, Arsenal and United twice – three of which have been against his former employers, displaying a tendency to lose himself in the occasion at the ripe old age of 39.

He’s also been brandished a card nine times versus the Reds – the joint-second most in his career. Having received two in his last four against Liverpool, including those two first half yellows in the red card at Anfield last term, he looks a surefire bet to receive another on Wednesday.

Liverpool Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

The Reds have had a two week recovery period after their season looked like it was beginning to tail off following a Champions League knockout exit to PSG and the EFL Cup final defeat to Newcastle United in March.

Arne Slot’s three first choice right backs are absent, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley all still sidelined with injuries. Despite Ryan Gravenberch and Alisson both pulling out of international commitments last week, the pair are expected to return for this match.

Liverpool Predicted XI: Alisson; Quansah, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai; Salah, Diaz, Gakpo.

Everton Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

David Moyes’ men have had a similar layoff to their counterparts over the international break, and they will also be keen to avoid successive defeats following the 1-0 loss to West Ham United in mid March.

The Toffees are starting to overcome their injury woes, as both Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil are back in training, however, neither will be fit enough to feature. Vitalii Mykolenko is doubtful after picking up an injury while representing Ukraine, as is Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose spell on the sidelines is clocking in at over two months now.

Everton Predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Young; Alcaraz, Gueye, Garner, Doucoure, Harrison; Beto.
