West Ham vs Norwich Predictions
West Ham United, like many teams, have had a mixed bag of a start to the campaign, winning one, drawing one and losing one of their first three Premier League matches. After the signings they made in the summer, the expectation has to be to put pressure on the top six teams in the league with big names like Pablo Fornals and Sebastian Haller arriving for huge sums leaving the London Stadium fanbase confident of a progressive season this time around.
It didn’t get off to the best of starts with a 0-5 home defeat at the hands of the reigning champions Manchester City, but the Hammers then earned a point on the road at Brighton & Hove Albion and an excellent away win over Watford last week, with Haller getting off the mark with his first two goals for the club. Can they earn a first home win of the campaign as expected now at odds of 10/11 with Black Type.
Norwich City are back in the Premier League after winning promotion in some style under Daniel Farke last season. The Canaries won the Championship title with ease and despite a lack of Premier League experience in their squad they’ve impressed at times in their opening few games of the campaign and they possess a squad filled with players with points to prove from exciting youngsters to experienced heads that have struggled to make an impression at former clubs.
Despite going down in defeats to Liverpool and Chelsea so far, the Carrow Road faithful will be enthused by the way their side has performed thus far with Farke choosing to stick to his attacking principles despite the step-up in opposition. The 3-1 victory over Newcastle between those defeats showed what this side is capable of on it’s day – another performance like that at the London Stadium and they could pick up a win here at 3/1 with Unibet.
We’re backing the hosts to get the three points here though after that confidence-boosting win at Vicarage Road last weekend. The Hammers have not kept a clean sheet so far this term though, shipping seven goals in their first three games, while Norwich have racked up six goals of their own (despite losing twice), thanks in no small part to the deadly finishing of striker Teemu Pukki. We’re on the home win and both teams to score bet at 21/10 with Betfair.
After he opened his Premier League account last weekend we’re backing another big performance from West Ham’s record signing Sebastien Haller in this game. The 25 year old was always a goal threat during his time at former club Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 15 times last season in just 29 games. After that brace in Hertfordshire we’re backing him for a first goal at the London Stadium at odds of 5/4 with PaddyPower.
