Norwich vs Manchester City Predictions
Norwich City are back in the Premier League and have endured a fairly difficult start in their first four games. The Canaries have already had to face both Liverpool and Chelsea, losing to both, and they suffered a 2-0 away defeat last time out at West Ham United too. They do have three points on the board though, having beaten Newcastle United 3-1 in their first home fixture of the campaign.
Daniel Farke’s men are now set to face an even tougher test than those that have already come as they take on the reigning champions at Carrow Road on Saturday evening. With Teemu Pukki, who has already racked up five goals in just four Premier League appearances, in their ranks, the hosts will carry a goal threat but defensively they have left a lot to be desired so far this term which is perhaps why they’re out at 18/1 to win here with Coral.
Perhaps a more obvious reason for that price is that the Norfolk side’s opponents here, Manchester City, are arguably the best team in the world right now. Under Pep Guardiola, the Citizens have won the last two Premier League titles, racking up 100 points two years ago and picking up four domestic trophies last term. Although they aren’t top of the table right now, they’re favourites to lift the trophy again come May this term.
Four games in, Guardiola’s men have picked up three victories against West Ham United, Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion but were held to a slightly unfortunate draw at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in their first home game of the campaign. Following the international break, City will be expecting to keep the pressure on current leaders and most likely title rivals Liverpool with three points here at 2/11 with Betfair.
Sergio Aguero has been in scintillating form for Manchester City so far this season. The Argentinian marksman has already racked up no fewer than six goals in just four Premier League appearances and given that this Norwich outfit has already shipped ten goals in it’s first four Premier League outings of the season, we can see the 31 year old adding to his tally with at least two more here at 13/5 Coral.
Norwich conceded early in those defeats to Liverpool and Chelsea, being 1-2 down after 17 minutes against the Blues and 3-0 down to Liverpool after just 28 minutes. City meanwhile opened the scoring in less than 120 seconds in their last outing against Brighton so we’re expecting City to be ahead by the time the 15 minute mark rolls around here at odds of 11/5 with Ladbrokes.
