Liverpool vs Aston Villa Betting Tips

Reds flying high at home and in Europe

Liverpool couldn’t have wished for a better start to the new regime, with Slot’s squad currently top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables.

Nottingham Forest remain the only team to beat the Reds in 16 competitive matches this season and the goals have also been flowing in recent weeks.

Liverpool have scored 11 times in their last four games in all competitions and head into Sunday’s match following a crushing 4-0 win over German champions Bayer Leverkusen in midweek.

In contrast, Unai Emery’s side travel to Merseyside having won just one of their last four away games in all competitions.

Their 4-1 loss at Tottenham last Sunday was followed by a 1-0 European defeat to Club Brugge, although Villa made a number of changes for the Champions League encounter.

Despite Villa sealing a top-four finish last season, Liverpool took four points off the Midlanders with a 3-0 win at Anfield followed by a 3-3 draw at Villa Park.

Tip 1: Both Teams to score in the second half @ 7/4 with BetGoodwin

Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool forged a reputation for being a team who got out of the traps quickly and would push teams back from the first whistle.

It’s been a different story under the German’s successor Slot, with the Reds seemingly getting stronger as games progress.

The league leaders have fallen behind in two of their last four Premier League home games while Bournemouth had a very tight offside decision go against them when they thought they had earned an early lead at Anfield.

Liverpool were second-best at times during the first half of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen, but they turned on the style after the break and eventually ran out comprehensive victors.

It’s worth noting that 10 of Liverpool’s last 12 goals have come in the second-half of matches, including both of their strikes in last week’s 2-1 win over Brighton.

Three of Villa’s last five Premier League goals have also come after the break while two late goals saw them come from behind to draw 3-3 at Villa Park against Liverpool last term.

Tip 2: Darwin Nunez and Morgan Rodgers both to score @ 10/1

Having been left on the bench against Leverkusen on Tuesday, there’s a good chance Darwin Nunez will start Sunday’s clash at Anfield.

With Diogo Jota out until after the international break, the Uruguayan is the only senior central striker available to Slot. And as Jota edges ever nearer to a return, it’s important that Nunez stakes his claim for a starting role by getting himself what would be a second league goal of the season.

Morgan Rodgers has been Villa’s main scoring threat in recent weeks with three league goals to his name.

Interestingly, all of those strikes have come away from Villa Park, in matches at Ipswich, Fulham and Tottenham.
