  • Monday night’s Premier League game is a west London derby as Fulham host Brentford at Craven Cottage with both teams looking to strengthen their challenges for a top-half finish. The match is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 GMT on Monday 4th November and an entertaining encounter is expected, with both sides having featured in some high-scoring games in their recent outings.

Fulham vs Brentford Predictions

  • Full Time Result: Brentford Win
  • Correct Score: 3-1
  • Both Teams To Score: Yes
  • Over 2.5 Goals: Yes
  • First Goalscorer: Bryan Mbuemo

Fulham and Brentford will both be happy to have steered clear of the battle at the bottom of the Premier League table in the first quarter of the season and are looking to push on after finishing 13th and 16th respectively last term.

The Cottagers have made a solid start to the 2024-25 season, going unbeaten for seven league and cup games inside 90 minutes after an opening-day loss at Manchester United, but they have since hit something of a sticky patch, taking only a single point from their last three games.

Brentford will be ecstatic about their early home form as they have taken 13 of a possible 15 points from their first five games in front of their own fans, but they will arrive at Craven Cottage desperate to open their account on the road, having lost all of their first four away games.

The Bees have had the edge in the recent meetings between the teams, with the Cottagers winning just two of their last 10 encounters, although one of those successes was their 2-1 win after extra-time in the 2019-20 Championship play-off final.

Brentford won this fixture 3-0 last season thanks to two Bryan Mbeumo goals and one from Yoane Wissa, although the Cottagers played the final 26 minutes of that game with 10 men after Tim Ream was sent off.

Fulham could again be missing midfielder Sasa Lukic and defender Timothy Castagne due to injury but Joachim Andersen is available after a suspension.

Brentford are expected to have Kristoffer Ajer back after a foot injury but Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry, Igor Thiago, Gustavo Nunes and Aaron Hickey are set to miss the game.

Fulham vs Brentford Tips

Tip 1

Brentford are not as bad as their record of zero points from four away league games sounds and they look a decent value bet to chalk up their first win when they make the short trip to Craven Cottage on Monday.

That blank return on the road is more understandable when put in the context of the teams they have faced, as their opening top-flight trips have been to Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United.

They kept the score respectable at Anfield and the Etihad, losing 2-0 and 2-1 in those games, while they also took the lead in their losses at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Old Trafford.

There has been enough in their performances to suggest they could succeed when facing less daunting tasks on the road and visiting Fulham, where they cruised to a 3-0 win last season, fits the bill perfectly.

The Cottagers may be doubting themselves after a three-games winless run and it could be hard to lift themselves after the blow of Everton’s late equaliser last week.

Brentford’s home displays have been scintillating of late and with Wissa firing again they look a big price for their first away success of the season.

Tip 2

Goals have been plentiful in Brentford’s games this season with their last two home Premier League games bringing a 5-3 win over Wolves and a 4-3 victory over Ipswich, and another victory in which both teams score looks realistic.

That outcome is 5/1 with bet365 but for an even bigger payout, a 3-1 Brentford win appeals in the correct-score market.

Brentford have conceded in all four of their league wins this season, including a 3-1 success against Southampton, and they also beat League One Leyton Orient by that score in the EFL Cup.

Both teams have scored in the Bees’ last nine games in all competitions and the same is true of seven of Fulham’s last eight games.

The Cottagers lost 3-1 at home to Aston Villa in their last home match and could be vulnerable to another exciting offensive team when the Bees visit.
