Everton vs Arsenal Tips

Tip 1

Although we tipped this selection up on Wednesday and it proved unsuccessful, the task of Everton breaching the Liverpool goal at Anfield is greater than penetrating a weakened Arsenal defence on home turf.

Despite blanking against the league leaders, Everton have still netted in 9/12 since David Moyes took over from Sean Dyche, and in six of their last seven outings.

The visitors have also conceded in away trips to Bournemouth, Fulham, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Manchester United in the top flight this term, displaying some of the reasoning behind why they’ll most likely not be getting their hands on the Premier League trophy this time around.

Tip 2

The Toffees held Arsenal to a goalless draw at the Emirates in December before Moyes rejoined the club, but most importantly this came at a time when they were really struggling to accumulate points on the board.

At Goodison Park since the Scotsman returned, they’ve bested Spurs and Leicester, before draws with Liverpool, Man United and West Ham – all of which are noble points, especially since it stretches their unbeaten home record to five since losing to Villa in Moyes’ first game back.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s men have drawn their last two on the road at the City Ground and then Old Trafford.

On the goalscorer front, Iliman Ndiaye is arguably Everton’s danger man and definitely possesses that creative spark to bolster their chances of picking something up on Saturday lunchtime.

He’s scored eight times this campaign, six of which have been netted in Premier League fixtures, and three since his current boss came in – with all three bagged in his last five outings.

Everton Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

The big talking point of Everton’s Merseyside Derby on Wednesday was not Liverpool’s 1-0 win, but rather the controversial yellow card awarded to James Tarkowski after a crunching horror challenge on Alexis Mac Allister which undoubtedly warranted a red.

However, the former Burnley defender remains available for selection, alongside Iliman Ndiaye who should be fit enough to start after a second half appearance this week. Orel Mangala, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dwight McNeil are all still absent through injury.

Everton Predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Ndiaye, Doucoure, Alcaraz; Beto.

Arsenal Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

The Gunners completed a second straight win following their 2-2 draw with PSV in the Champions League last-16 second leg, this time narrowly edging out Fulham 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

Arsenal were dealt a couple of blows from this week’s London derby, with both Gabriel and Jurrien Timber substituted with injuries. Saturday’s game still looks too soon for long-term absentee Ben White, who will join Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz on the sidelines.

Arsenal Predicted XI: Raya; Partey, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Martinelli.
