Cameroon vs Guinea-Bissau Match Preview
Cameroon have been very solid in 2019 and only saw their three-match winning streak ended by Mali in a 1-1 draw earlier this month, as they fell behind early on but Toko Ekambi netted a late first-half equalizer. They now meet Guinea-Bissau as they open competition in AFCON Group F, hoping to bounce despite losing the hosting rights and prove their worth early in Egypt.
Indomitable Lions have beaten Comoros (3-0), Zambia (2-1), and Alcorcon (0-11) in three outings beforehand and proved their great shape in the final third, led by Maritimo’s in-form striker Joel. They’ll now want more of the same and we feel the rivals could have their hands full.
Guinea-Bissau have had more troubles and a thrilling Qualifiers campaign in Group K, finishing top with a point-gap to Namibia and Mozambique and two points to last-placed Zambia – only Frederic Mendy’s last-minute equalizer against Mozambique (2-2) making the difference on the final day of the campaign.
Djurtus have struggled to turn clashes their way, though, and this will be more worrying for their ambitions to cause an upset – as they last bagged a win back in October 2018 and saw two draws and a loss in three outings since, including a comfortable 2-0 friendly loss to Angola earlier this month.
We will now back Cameroon to prove their worth as heavy favourites and bag the points with confidence in a win to Nil, which comes at 29/20 with MyBet and has already caught a lot of attention with Guinea-Bissau struggling to retain consistency in the final third.
However, we don’t feel this will be a very one-sided contest which will allow Cameroon to score many goals either, as we now also back Under 2.5 Goals FT at 8/13 with Hamabet – which does feel like buying money for old rope at this point as well.
