FA Cup Third Round betting tips

The first big game of the weekend takes place at Spotland where Rochdale welcome Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United. The Magpies should be able to overcome a Dale side that have won just one of their last six home games, but the Premier League outfit don’t have a strong record in this competition so we’re backing a narrow one goal win at odds of 13/5.

On Saturday evening, League Two side Port Vale travel to Manchester City and even if Pep Guardiola decides to rotate his full squad for this game, the Citizens should rack up the goals in a very comfortable win here. It may not be at the same level as their EFL Cup semi-final demolition of Burton Albion last season but we do fancy the Citizens to win with a four goal handicap at 13/10.

Things step up again on Sunday, starting with Tottenham’s trip to Middlesbrough. The Teessiders have returned to form of late, picking up four consecutive Championship wins ahead of this FA Cup tie, whilst the Lilywhites have stumbled in their last few games, earning just one point from the last available nine. We’re on Boro to earn at least a draw here on the double chance market at odds of 5/4.

Then there’s the small matter of the Merseyside Derby as Everton hope to end their long wait for an away win over rivals Liverpool at Anfield. The Toffees have been improved under Carlo Ancelotti but we can’t see them stopping the juggernaut that is Jurgen Klopp’s side in this game. We’re on a home win and both teams to score bet at 7/4.

There are plenty of other games you can watch over the course of the weekend though and even beyond that Merseyside derby as Gillingham welcome West Ham United late on Sunday evening before Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United travel to Arsenal on Monday night.
