Armenia are looking to do the double over Greece in this group. Having beaten Ethniki away from home, the Collectives are looking to keep their hopes of a top two finish and qualification to a first ever major international tournament alive by overcoming them again and given that they’ve won four of their last seven at home, including against a decent Bosnia-Herzegovina outfit last time out, we see them beating a Greek side with just one win in their last eight here.
Our next tip comes from the opponents that lost to Armenia in their last outing, Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Dragons may have lost that game but they still managed two goals and they’re always a threat in front of goal, particularly on home soil where they’ve scored nine times in their last two outings. As such, we see them getting on the scoresheet against the superior Italy but the Azzurri should still pick up the points. They’ve been dominant under Roberto Mancini and a win here would be their tenth consecutive international victory.
Denmark should rack up the goals as they welcome minnows Gibraltar to Parken in Copenhagen. In the reverse fixture earlier in the group stages, Rode-Hvide smashed their way to a 6-0 victory away from home and they won their last outing 4-0 against Luxembourg having earlier beaten Georgia in the group stages by a 5-1 scoreline. This largely part-time Gibraltan outfit will struggle to cope with the likes of Yussuf Poulsen, Kasper Dolberg and Christian Eriksen here.
We’re anticipating a tight clash between Romania and Sweden in Bucharest. Blagult have drawn two of their last three outings and indeed the only teams they’ve beaten in their last eight games have been the Faroe Islands and Malta (twice). On paper, they have a stronger side than Tricolorii, but with the home advantage we fancy Cosmin Contra’s men to continue their strong form with another point here – they’ve lost just one of their last seven, drawing twice with Norway in that run.
Finally we’re looking over to Kybunpark in St Gallen, where Switzerland will take on Georgia. El Nati’s qualification hopes hang squarely in the balance in a very tight group, but they’ve won their last two home games in quite dominant fashion against both the Republic of Ireland and Gibraltar. In their last away qualifier Georgia just above managed to overcome the minnows from Gibraltar but before that were hammered 5-1 by Denmark so we envisage another difficult night for them here.
