Zimbabwe vs DR Congo Match Preview
Zimbabwe failed to capitalize on a strong challenge they’ve put ahead hosts Egypt and suffered a 1-0 loss on the opening day of the Africa Cup of Nations campaign, only bouncing as they held Uganda to a 1-1 draw and now hoping for points to make the knockout stages.
Warriors have thus struggled to turn clashes their way and now have a four-match winless streak behind them, but still suffered just one loss in five outings since early June. They’ve enjoyed a tough defensive approach and we now expect more of the same on their end.
DR Congo will have to play for pride only and only count on theoretical chances to make it to the knockout stages, after seeing comfortable 2-0 losses in the hands of Uganda on the opening day of the campaign and Egypt on Matchday 2. They’ll now need more but we don’t feel they have what it takes to bounce back.
Leopards have hardly been the outsiders they are now heading into the tournament but now have harsh reality to face, which could make it hard to perform now as well. The attacking line led by Cedric Bakambu is still to deliver anything and the pressure could be mounting in the dressing room.
We’ll back Zimbabwe to capitalize on such circumstances and bag all three points at 30 June Air Defence Stadium, where a win comes at an eye-catching 2/1 with Surebet247 and would surely mean a great step towards the knockout stages even if they don’t make the top 2 cut.
We do feel we’re in for another very narrow occasion, though, and slim margins could make all the difference once again. With that in mind, going for a low-scoring contest and Under 2.5 Goals FT feels like buying money for old rope at 8/13 with Helabet.
