Uganda vs Zimbabwe Match Preview
Uganda bagged a 0-2 win over Congo DR as Patrick Kaddu opened the scoresheet early in the first half and Emmanuel Okwi doubled the lead early in the second to secure the points, now meeting Zimbabwe in hope they can make a great step towards the top 2 cut or even seal it if Congo DR fail to beat hosts Egypt.
Cranes have thus built on a solid display and a 0-1 win over Ivory Coast and bounced from an unsuccessful COSAFA Cup experience, with losses on penalties to Lesotho (after a goalless draw) and South Africa (after a 1-1 draw). Sebastien Desabre has indeed set up a tough defensive line along the way and will now surely want more of the same from his men.
Zimbabwe have, on the other hand, made it a tough challenge primarily through Edmore Sibanda but failed to make it count – as a single goal from Trezeguet late in the first half made all the difference. They’ll now hope they still can challenge the top 2 with points here but doing so will be no easy task, with the rivals seemingly in a better place at this point.
Warriors have struggled for pick-me-ups ahead of the tournament too despite showing off as a tough side to score against, where they saw a goalless draw against Nigeria and a 1-1 draw against Tanzania in two friendlies beforehand. We do expect them very motivated but we don’t see them overturning their fortunes.
We will thus stick our necks out for Uganda to bag the points once again, making it two in a row and another step towards the top 2 cut as we go for them to win at 6/4 with Netbet. We’ve seen them rock-solid at the back and now hope they can keep it up.
They’ll have to do just that as we expect another very narrow occasion at the Africa Cup of Nations, which has us going for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 4/9 with Helabet – together with a number of heavy hitters rating this a real banker bet already.
