  • Tottenham Hotspur’s awful Premier League campaign continued with Sunday’s 5-1 defeat to new champions Liverpool which left them 16th in the table.

However, Ange Postecoglu’s side have generally saved their better performances for the Europa League this season and they will be hoping that continues in their semi-final first-leg match at home to Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

The Norwegian side have impressed throughout the competition and have made the last four after finishing ninth in the league phase, coming through a tough quarter-final draw against Serie A side Lazio.

Kick-off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is scheduled for 20:00 BST on Thursday, 1st May and the match will be shown live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.

Read on for in-depth analysis of the key Europa League match plus expert predictions and betting tips.

Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt Tips

Tip 1

Tottenham are strong favourites to take a first-leg lead but the underdogs should not be taken lightly and Bodo/Glimt are fancied to at least get on the scoresheet in London.

Both teams scored in seven of the Norwegian side’s eight league-phase games and the same has been true in four of their six knockout matches, with Bodo/Glimt yet to be shut out in this phase of the competition.

Meanwhile, five of Tottenham’s last six matches overall have also seen both sides find the net and Bodo/Glimt have opened the new Norwegian season by scoring 13 goals in their last four league and cup games.

Tip 2

Dominic Solanke put Tottenham ahead at Anfield on Sunday before the floodgates opened and the makeshift Spurs defence was overwhelmed, but the former Bournemouth striker is ending his first campaign in London in decent personal form.

Solanke has scored 13 goals for Spurs despite missing all of February due to injury and he was also on the mark with the crucial penalty in the second leg of the quarter-final at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Having also scored against Qarabag and Galatasaray in the competition, Solanke will be keen to help his side claim a place in the final.
