Inter Milan vs Arsenal Predictions

  • Full Time Result: Draw
  • Correct Score: 1-1
  • Both Teams To Score: Yes
  • Over 2.5 Goals: No
  • First Goalscorer: Gabriel Magalhaes

One of the standout Champions League games on Wednesday takes place at the San Siro, where Inter Milan and Arsenal go head-to-head.

The Italian giants are currently seventh and Arsenal are ninth in the new league format, with both teams collecting seven points from their opening three matches.

Mikel Arteta’s men have lost their last two Premier League away games and head to Milan under pressure to halt the recent slide (kick-off 8pm, TNT Sports 1).

Arsenal have gone from Premier League title favourites a month ago to sitting fifth in the table, with just two wins in the last five in all competitions.

After a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday, the Gunners have a quick chance to correct matters in the Champions League.

They face a severe test, though, against an Inter Milan team who are unbeaten in their last eight matches, including a 1-0 league win over Venezia on Sunday.

Arsenal will hope history is on their side, with their last trip to the San Siro to face Inter coming back in November 2003 when Arsene Wenger’s team won 5-1.

Inter Milan vs Arsenal Tips

Tip 1: Under 2.5 Goals @ 8/11

Numerous pundits have pointed to the fact that Arsenal haven’t been as entertaining and attacking as last season.

That is highlighted in the Champions League goals scored tally, with Arteta’s squad having found the net just three times in their first three European games.

On the road in particular, goals have been a problem and the Gunners have failed to score in three of their last five away games in all competitions.

Inter’s recent performances in both Serie A and in Europe also suggest that they will be tough to break down.

Simone Inzaghi’s side have kept five clean sheets in their last eight games and are yet to concede a goal in their Champions League campaign.

Among those clean sheets was a goalless draw at Manchester City, when they fully deserved to collect a point from the Etihad.

Tip 2: Anytime Goalscorer – Gabriel Magalhaes @ 12/1

Arsenal don’t look the force they were going forward last season, but they still pose a real threat from set pieces.

Arteta’s men scored 20 set-piece goals last term and have already bagged three goals from them this season.

Deliveries from Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice have been pinpoint and proved crucial in big games.

One of those to benefit from the set-piece plan is Gabriel, with the centre-back having two goals to his name already this season.

Those headers came in the north London derby at Tottenham and in the top-of-the-table clash at Manchester City.

In what is another big clash, the Brazilian could be a useful weapon in their attempts to get back to winning ways.
