Germany vs Northern Ireland Match Preview

Northern Ireland have kept up with the Group C top 2 and they travel to Germany on the final day of the campaign, just days after hosting Netherlands in Belfast, as they look to make a late impact and shock many in an attempt to make the top 2 cut against all the odds.

Green and White Army beat Czech Republic (2-3) in October friendly but we’ve seen them struggling to make it count against the big guns beforehand, seeing rather comfortable losses to Germany (0-2) in front of the home fans in September and Netherlands (3-1) on the road in October.

Germany will now hope for another such quest and we should see them very motivated to impress in Frankfurt, despite struggling to retain consistency at home ground over the past year. They beat Estonia (0-3) last time out as a brace from Ilkay Gundogan and one added by Timo Werner proved enough for points in Tallinn, which will have them searching for more against Belarus and Northern Ireland.
