Everton have scored the first goal in 11 matches this season, doing so on five of a possible 12 occasions since David Moyes returned.
In contrast, City have conceded in three of the last four fixtures where they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet, indicating that the hosts have a good chance of striking first and getting something from the game if they are able to breach the away goal on the day.
There have been two or fewer goals in each of the Toffees’ last six outings and in nine out of 12 under Moyes due to their dramatically improved defence which has seen them reduce the number of shots on target faced from 4.7 to 3.6 among other things.
Additionally, three of City’s last six have fallen under this goals line, as have their last three consecutive away trips, while Sean Dyche was able to conjure a 1-1 stalemate at the Etihad in the height of Everton’s struggles in December.

An injury-time winner from Abdoulaye Doucoure helped Everton claim maximum points from their visit to the City Ground last Saturday, which in turn allowed them to leapfrog Manchester United into 13th despite winning two fewer games following the Red Devils’ damaging 4-1 loss to Newcastle.
Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still a couple of weeks away from a return to action, while Jesper Lindstrom and Orel Mangala are ruled out for the remainder of the season with respective groin and knee injuries.
