Chapecoense vs Fluminense Match Preview
Chapecoense have struggled for points and host similarly troubled Fluminense looking for all-important points as they try to escape dropping into the relegation zone still early in the competition, having bagged just three points in their last five outings and beaten by Palmeiras (1-2) and Goias (3-1) in their last two.
Verdao have shown off as a tougher side to beat at Arena Conda, though, and they’ll now surely want to do so once again – despite obvious inability to really capitalize on the goals scored. They’ve found the net in all of their last six outings, which does promise the attacking line led by Everaldo in good mood again.
Fluminense sit above the rivals only for their goal difference after ending the streak of four losses across competitions with a goalless draw against Flamengo in front of the home crowd. Indeed, they’ve largely struggled to produce on the road and this will be worrying here as well.
Flu have seen Bahia (3-2) and Athletico PR (3-0) secure the points and also suffered Copa Sudamericana and Copa do Brasil losses to Atletico Nacional (1-0) and Cruzeiro (on penalties after 2-2 draw), respectively. They will now want more but it’s hard to see them end such a streak with a win in Chapeco at this point.
With that in mind, we’re sticking with Chapecoense to secure at least a point and going for a Double Chance – Home win or Draw really feels like buying money for old rope at 4/9 with Unibet – as we feel they can bounce at Arena Conda now.
However, we should be in for goals and Verdao will have to cope if they’re to do so, as we now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 21/20 with Unibet. We have seen both sides regularly scoring and conceding lately and this could as well be the best approach to the fixture at this point.
