Celtic vs Livingston Match Preview
Celtic host Livingston for their Matchday 33 clash just days after their mid-week trip to St. Mirren, as they look to build on a rock-solid streak of recent and finish the first strongly with a 13-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Bhoys come into the busy week on the back of a six-match unbeaten streak, where they bagged five wins and a single draw (0-0 against Aberdeen at this ground), including a thriller 2-1 win over Rangers on Sunday. They outgunned the ten-men Gers with a very late winner orchestrated by an in-form Odsonne Edouard and converted by James Forrest.
Livingston will now look to at least put on a solid challenge and force the rivals into an exciting contest at Celtic Park, but they’ve been far from their best lately. They’ve lost all chances to make the top six cut with a very unpredictable streak and will now need more to cause an upset.
Livi come into the Wednesday’s clash against Hamilton Academical with a troubled contest against Hibernian (1-2) where a late penalty kick converted by Ryan Hardie proved nothing more than a consolation as Gary Holt’s men failed to build on a home win over St. Johnstone (3-1) and draw earned at Aberdeen (1-1) beforehand.
We will now back Celtic to prove too much for Livi to handle at this point and with that in mind, we’re sticking our necks out for a convincing home win with Asian Handicap -2.5 at 57/40 with bet365 and catches the eye of many in the know.
Indeed, visitors don’t seem to have the same sort of firepower at this point and we’ll now also back Celtic to keep it together at the back on the day, going for their fourth clean sheet in five outings across competitions at 11/20 with William Hill.
