Celtic vs Kilmarnock Match Preview
Celtic have a lot to be happy about after their 1-1 draw at Rennes midway through the week but they still saw a six-match winning streak ended in France, getting just a point as they opened their Europa League campaign. They now host Kilmarnock looking to bounce back to the winning ways quickly and keep hold of their Premiership top spot.
Bhoys have 15 points to their name after five games and we’ve seen them beat Rangers (0-2) and Hamilton Academical (0-1) in two narrow away games in September. They’ve been scoring more goals in front of the home fans and will now hope to impress in the final third once again.
Kilmarnock have a four-match unbeaten streak behind them and will surely be looking for an upset, with some solid performances in head-to-head clashes but still nothing to show for it with three narrow losses behind them. They’ve been rock-solid at the back and based their success on such an approach lately, as Angelo Alessio’s side promises a strong challenge again.
Killie kept clean sheets in all of their last four outings and we’ve seen them beat Hamilton Academical (1-0) in League Cup, hold off Aberdeen in a goalless draw, and beat both St. Johnstone (0-1) and Hibernian (2-0) more recently. They will now surely be in for the toughest challenge yet but have ground to build on.
We will still back Celtic to break them down and bag the points in a rather narrow contest in Glasgow, going for a Home win to Nil at 21/20 with Coral. Bhoys have been tougher to score against recently and we feel we’re in for another such occasion here.
However, we don’t really see it as smooth sailing for Neil Lennon’s men and we’ll now also stick with Kilmarnock to put on a solid challenge, as we go for a low-scoring occasion with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 6/5 with bet365.
