Bournemouth vs Man City Tips

Tip 1

Iraola has already bested Guardiola once this season 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium in November, right around the time where City’s troubles first started to rear their ugly head.

Both of the last two encounters have been incredibly close, with City coming out on top in a marginal 1-0 victory on the same stage in February last year.

The only difference between these two in the form table is City’s two wins to Bournemouth’s one, however, the Cherries have shown a lot more appetite and capability over this period than the visitors.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Forest and Man City themselves have all lost on their travels against Bournemouth, while the reigning champions have slipped up in additional away games versus Brighton, Villa, Forest, Sporting and Spurs in the EFL Cup this term, meaning the hosts are an attractive price at above even money to qualify in 90 minutes or longer.

Tip 2

Justin Kluivert is experiencing a stellar season for Bournemouth, scoring 12 top flight goals and a total of 14 across all competitions.

That number is second to only Erling Haaland for both teams taking to the field on Sunday and on closer inspection is even more impressive when you see the calibre of Premier League team he’s bagged against: Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Forest, Brighton and a hat-trick versus Newcastle.

For the second part of this bet, although Gonzalez has only picked up one yellow since joining Man City to fill the void left by the injured Rodri, he looks far from comfortable operating in this particular role.

He’s committed seven fouls in his last three matches, receiving a yellow in his latest away trip when City were on the losing end of a head-to-head with Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest.

There are bound to be more yellows in his future before getting to grips with his responsibilities in the City midfield and the prospect of him entering the referee’s book against a sharp, attack-minded Bournemouth side seems high.

Bournemouth Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

The Cherries have had a bit of a recent wobble form wise, although they remain in contention to be playing European football next season, with six places and five points separating themselves in 10th from Chelsea in 4th.

Andoni Iraola added Luis Sinisterra to his injury list before the international break, however, the Spaniard will once again be able to call upon Julian Araujo whose fitness is now up to speed.

Bournemouth Predicted XI: Kepa; Cook, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Adams; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson.

Man City Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

Pep Guardiola’s side cannot shake their ropey form no matter how hard they try, as Brighton were able to hold them to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad before the recent international break to give them a record of 2-1-3 across their last six in all competitions.

The Citizens look set to welcome back goalkeeper Ederson and winger Oscar Bobb from minor injuries incurred this month, however, they’ll still be without long-term absentees Rodri, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji.

Man City Predicted XI: Ederson; Lewis, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Nico Gonzalez, Gundogan; Foden, Marmoush, Doku; Haaland.
