Aberdeen vs Celtic Match Preview
Celtic haven’t been as impressive on the road lately but have picked it up and travel to Aberdeen for their Matchday 10 clash on Sunday in a great mood, after beating Ross County (6-0) and Lazio (2-1) in two home outings over the past seven days – topping the league table and keeping hold of the top in Europa League Group E.
Bhoys have been held to draws by Rennes (1-1) and Rennes (1-1) in late September but saw a more disappointing 2-0 loss at Livingston ahead of the International break, which certainly gave them a lot to work on. We do feel they’ve recuperated, though, and we should be in for a more confident display on the day.
Aberdeen, on the other hand, come into the match on the back of a 0-3 win over Motherwell, where Sam Cosgrove, Niall McGinn, and Zak Vyner all made it on the scoresheet to end a three-match winless streak. They lag seven points behind the pace-setters and will now be desperate to close the gap.
Dons hardly have the boasting rights over Celtic, though, and they’ve seen five losses in last six head-to-head encounters with just a goalless draw at Celtic Park in March interrupting the unwanted streak. They will now need more and we don’t really see them up to the task on Sunday.
We will thus back Celtic to snatch all three points at Pittodrie and we’ll go for an Away win to Nil at Evens with bet365, which seems like a solid approach as we hope to see them rediscovering the defensive stability seen back in early September.
Nonetheless, we expect a strong challenge from Aberdeen here and we thus hope to see a narrow occasion here. We’ll thus also back Under 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 10/11 with William Hill and bodes well with our prediction for the match.
