Brighton are not in great form themselves having won only one of their last 11 games and Watford’s attacking play certainly suggests they are capable of heading home with a point.

Bet No 3: Atletico Madrid vs Granada – Home win and under 2.5 goals @ 7/5 with Betfair

With only four Premier League matches taking place this weekend due to the commencement of the winter break, we are looking to La Liga in Spain for our next bet in anticipation of a familiarly solid home performance from Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone’s side have not been at their best this season, but it’s their away form that has been letting them down and there appears no reason why they should not churn out another of their regular 1-0 or 2-0 home wins here.

Bet No 4: Sheffield United vs Bournemouth – Home win and under 3.5 goals @ 23/20 with Betfair

In some ways, Sheffield United are like England’s version of Atletico Madrid at present, in that they also grind out the victories by virtue of being very solid defensively.

This is fancied to be another against a Bournemouth side who appear to be banking on collecting points at home to avoid relegation – but if, as expected, the Blades do win, it is unlikely there will be many goals.

Bet No 5: Manchester City vs West Ham United – City to be ahead at 20 minutes @ 6/5 with Betfair

City have lost their latest two matches to nil, which is most unlike them, and you can be sure Pep Guardiola will be demanding a positive response against West Ham, whom they regularly put to the sword.
