Bet One – Red Bull Salzburg vs Liverpool – Away win & BTTS
Liverpool and Red Bull Salzburg played out a thrilling clash at Anfield earlier in the group stages and we expect more goals in this game. The Reds have not been quite as solid defensively this season, keeping far fewer clean sheets, but they remain capable of winning matches and if anything have been even more proficient in doing so thus far this term. After that 4-3 win in the reverse fixture we’re backing another win for Liverpool but with both teams getting on the scoresheet once again here.
Bet Two – Ajax vs Valencia – Ajax -2
Ajax versus Valencia at the Amsterdam ArenA seems to be a straight shoot-out for qualification if we can assume Chelsea beat Lille, as expected, at Stamford Bridge. Los Che are the team that need the win (a draw would be enough to send de Godenzonen through) and as such, they will have to come forward – leaving space for the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Dusan Tadic to exploit on the counter-attack. Having won by three goals at the Mestalla back in October we’re backing another simple win for the Dutch giants here.
Bet Three – Chelsea vs Lille – Abraham to score 2+
Tammy Abraham opened the scoring in Chelsea’s win over his former loan club Aston Villa last week and we anticipate another goal for the England international here. In 15 Premier League appearances for the Blues so far this season Abraham has racked up no fewer than 11 goals and he also found the net in his team’s away win over Lille earlier in this Champions League group stage. With everything still on the line for Chelsea here we fancy their young striker to grab a couple of important goals over the French side.
Bet Four – Inter Milan vs Barcelona – Away win
This time last year Inter Milan needed a home win over PSV Eindhoven to find a route through to the second round of the Champions League. Instead, they slipped to a draw whilst Barcelona played out a draw with Tottenham, seeing the Lilywhites progress. This time around, they go into the final game again needing three points but coming up against Blaugrana themselves and although we expect the visitors to rest some key players, we suspect the pressure may get to the Nerazzurri again with Borussia Dortmund expected to win at Slavia Prague.
Bet Five – Lyon vs RB Leipzig – Draw
RB Leipzig know that a draw will be enough to secure progress – and top spot – in Group G as they head to Lyon, who have the record of two wins, two defeats, and one draw to keep their hopes alive coming into this final game. For us, the German side have a slightly stronger squad and although they’re the away side, you can expect die Bullen to be well drilled under Julian Nagelsmann as they play out the draw they need to confirm that spot in the final sixteen.
