  • Having been unceremoniously dumped out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday, Liverpool will be desperate to eventually return to winning ways when they take on Aston Villa this weekend.

The West Midlanders travel to Anfield in buoyant spirits thanks to registering four consecutive Premier League wins, following an underwhelming start to the campaign.

If you’re planning on betting on Saturday’s late kick-off, why not check out our handy set of data-driven betting tips as we forecast more misery for Arne Slot’s Reds.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa Tips

Our Tip Methodology

At FootballTips, every prediction is shaped by a mix of data-driven analysis and informed football insight. Our contributors consider a wide range of factors before recommending a bet – from recent form and head-to-head records to tactical matchups, team news, and underlying stats.

We look for patterns in goal trends, home and away splits, player performance, and betting market movement to identify where the value lies. We don’t just tip favourites – we aim to find selections that offer a genuine edge. Whether it’s a goalscorer angle, a BTTS trend, or a high-priced underdog, each tip is backed by research and reasoning to help you bet smarter.

Why We’re Backing Over 10.5 Corners @ 11/10 with William Hill

  • Liverpool and Aston Villa have both been awarded 49 corners in their opening nine Premier League fixtures, an average of five per match for each team.
  • Both of last season’s fixtures between these two sides produced over 10 corners. There were 11 corners taken during November’s clash on Merseyside, with a further 14 being issued in the reverse contest at Villa Park.

Why We’re Backing Aston Villa Win & Under 3.5 Goals @ 6/1 with Betfred

  • Having only one won match across all competitions since the end of September, Liverpool are currently in a slump.
  • The reigning champions have remarkably lost four consecutive Premier League matches, as well as suffering chastening defeats to Galatasaray and Crystal Palace in the Champions League and EFL Cup respectively.
  • In stark contrast are Saturday’s opponents, Aston Villa, who are enjoying a rich vein of form. After failing to triumph in any of their opening five league outings, Unai Emery’s side now can’t stop winning.
  • Although only three teams (Manchester City, Chelsea, and Spurs) have scored more Premier League goals this term, Liverpool have struggled to find the net on home soil.
  • The Reds have scored just eight goals at Anfield in the league, but admittedly put three past visitors Atlético Madrid last month.
  • Meanwhile, Villa have recorded a paltry three goals on the road, so don’t expect too much activity in either box on Saturday night.

Liverpool Form/Stats

  • LFC’s 16 goals puts them at a scoring average of 1.78 goals per game.
  • The Reds have prominently gone four games without a win in the Premier League.

Aston Villa Form/Stats

  • Despite a slow start, Unai Emery’s side are averaging a very healthy 1.67 points per game during this campaign.
  • The Villans are on a run of four consecutive PL wins heading into this fixture.

Player to Watch

A shining light in an otherwise concerning period for his new employers, summer arrival Hugo Ekitike has added an extra dimension to Liverpool’s attacking proposition.

Having led the line early on before Alexander Isak’s return to full match fitness, the pacey Frenchman registered a goal in each of his first two Premier League appearances. After breaking the deadlock against Bournemouth, Ekitike doubled Liverpool’s lead in August’s dramatic triumph over Newcastle United.

The 23-year-old striker also grabbed the winner during the closing stages of the Reds’ EFL Cup victory over Southampton (although he was subsequently sent off following an over-zealous goal celebration), three days after scoring in the season’s first Merseyside derby.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa Head-to-Head Record

  • Aston Villa 2-2 Liverpool, Premier League – February 19th, 2025
  • Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa, Premier League – November 9th, 2024
  • Aston Villa 3-3 Liverpool, Premier League – May 13th, 2024
  • Liverpool 3-0 Aston Villa, Premier League – Match 3rd, 2024
  • Liverpool 1-1 Aston Villa, Premier League – May 20th, 2023

Liverpool have triumphed in six of their last seven league meetings with Aston Villa at Anfield, but surprisingly failed to beat the West Midlanders in any of the four matches preceding this sequence.

Remarkably, Villa have only registered one Premier League victory over the Reds in their last 15 attempts, thanks to a record that dates all the way back to October 2020. On that occasion, Dean Smith’s men racked up an astonishing seven goals in an empty Villa Park, in a win that threatened to derail Liverpool’s title defence.
