2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup

The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup will take place in France this summer. The competition takes place every four years and this will be the eighth edition of the tournament, with holders USA being the most successful team in it’s history having lifted the most important prize in Women’s international football on no fewer than three occasions so far.

Four teams, Chile, Jamaica, Scotland, and South Africa will be appearing at the competition for the first time in their history and Brazil, Germany, Japan, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden, and the United States remain the only teams to have qualified for every single Women’s World Cup finals so far.

When is the Women’s World Cup?

With 24 teams involved, the competition will get underway on the 7th June with the final taking place on the 7th July and will take place in nine different host cities across the country with the final taking place at Parc Olympique Lyonnais. England and Scotland are the only home nations competing in the tournament and they have been drawn together and will face off in their opening fixture on June 9 at the Allianz Riviera in Nice.
