Super Lig is the top flight of Turkish football and a competition that is growing in popularity as the standard continues to rise.

Up to the 1980s, Turkey was something of a laughing stock on the European football scene, their national team taking two 8-0 beatings in World Cup qualifiers by England in that decade, but it is anything but the case now and the Super Lig has some very famous clubs and players within it.

The names of Istanbul-based teams Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas are well known all over the globe and each have thousands of passionate supporters who create a vibrant atmosphere at their matches.

The most successful club in the history of the Super Lig, which was founded in 1956, are Galatasaray who have captured the league winner’s trophy on 20 occasions – one more than Fenerbahce, with Besiktas third on 14 titles.

That trio are also the only three clubs to have competed in every Super Lig campaign uninterrupted since their debut season, while Galatasaray are the only Turkish club to have won a European competition having lifted the UEFA Cup in 2000 after beating Arsenal in the final on penalties.

In addition to the ‘big three’, two other Super Lig clubs are based in Turkey’s most famous city and one of them, Istanbul Basaksehir, have made great strides in recent years to carry the fight to their illustrious rivals.

You have the chance to watch every single Super Lig match throughout the course of a season via the live streaming services available with the online bookmakers, provided you have an account containing funds or have placed a bet within the preceding 24 hours.

It means that every week you can watch high-class players in action, including Galatasaray’s Wesley Sneijder, Lukas Podolski and Nigel de Jong, Fenerbahce’s Robin van Persie, Gregory van der Wiel and Martin Skrtel, and Besiktas duo Ricardo Quaresma and Anderson Talisca.
