Zenit vs Fenerbahce Match Preview
Zenit host Fenerbahce for the return match of their Europa League clash looking to overturn a one-goal advantage with a lot of regrets from the first leg, where they missed a penalty and a single goal from Islam Slimani proved enough for the rivals to come to Saint-Petersburg Stadium on a high.
Lvi have seen a two-month break beforehand and only return to Premier League in early March, having picked it up through friendlies against Rostov (0-5), Elche (0-2), Dudelange (0-0), and Sarpsborg (1-2) beforehand. They will now want to capitalize on Fener’s woes away from home.
Fenerbahce come into the match with a narrow contest and a 1-1 draw against Konyaspor now behind them, where they still extended a fine streak with three wins and a loss seen in four outings since late January. However, they have struggled to turn clashes their way on the road and this will be more worrying as the loss at Kayserispor (1-0) was their only trip along the way.
Fener have struggled to score goals and the one netted at Bursaspor secured an important point, where a similar display could prove enough to make it past the rivals here. Ersun Yanal will want just that from his men but they have a lot to prove in Russia, in what shapes another narrow contest in the making.
We will now stick with Zenit to secure a win on the day and back them to it at 19/20 with William Hill, hoping to see them show off a tough character in front of the home fans once again – having suffered just one loss here this term!
However, it’s questionable if it will be enough to make it to the 8th Finals and we feel Fenerbahce will have a lot of open space to explore here, as we now also stick our necks out for a Yes on Both teams to score at Evens with bet365.
