Wycombe vs Bolton Match Preview
Wycombe host troubled Bolton in hope they can capitalize on the rivals woes and kick-start the new campaign in front of the home fans, as EFL Board decided against suspending the contest despite rumours they might do so – for the visitors’ financial troubles and administration.
Gareth Ainsworth’s outfit have seen a busy summer and six arrivals already, most notably QPR’s David Wheeler, Coventry’s Jack Grimmer, and returning Fred Onyedinma from Millwall. Wycombe will hope to do more this term and getting off to a good start will be crucial.
Bolton will start the campaign with a 12-point deficit after a no-show as they were to host Brentford in late April and seeing the arbitration proceedings still ongoing, it’s hard to expect we’ll see any first-team players in the setup at Adams Park on the opening day of the campaign either.
The visitors obviously have more on their mind and while we should see a youthful side willing to compete, we don’t feel this will be enough to cope. Bolton still have time to consolidate but it’s fast slipping through their fingers and the contest in Wycombe comes too soon we feel.
We will thus back Wycombe to make the best out of it and we see them turning an exciting game their way, as we go for a Home win and Over 2.5 Goals FT – which combines to Evens with Coral and looks the best approach to the fixture at this point.
We do feel the visitors will get on the scoresheet as well, though, and while we don’t see them denting Wycombe’s unbeaten streak – this has us going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 11/8 with Unibet. Ainsworth’s men have been conceding on the regular and we could see open spaces at the back once again.
