Wolves vs Burnley Predictions

Wolves are looking to do what Burnley couldn’t last season by being a success in both the Premier League and the Europa League this term. Last summer, the Clarets failed to reach the group stages of the Europa League after being knocked out by Olympiakos in qualifying, but Wolves look set to reach the main competition as they lead Torino 2-3 after a stunning away win on Thursday night following wins against Crusaders and Pyunik in the last two rounds.

Having been held to a goalless draw with Leicester City on the opening weekend away from home, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men played out a 1-1 draw in front of their home fans on Monday night against Manchester United. Confidence will surely be flowing though after that victory against Serie A’s Torino, away from home, in the Europa League on Thursday night. Can they now pick up a first league win of the season at 17/20 with Unibet?

Burnley are the visitors to Molineux for this one and they’ve already endured a little bit of a rollercoaster start to the season. The Clarets got off to a flying start with a thumping home win over Southampton, but they went down 2-1 last weekend to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. That said, they will be encouraged by their performance in that game and expectation will be to finish higher than last year with no slow start attributed to the Europa League to contend with.

Under Sean Dyche you know that Burnley will always prove to be difficult to break down but they’ll look to be more pro-active this season judging by their performance in these first two games of the season. Although they’ve won lower league fixtures since then, the last time the Lancashire outfit managed a top-tier victory at Molineux was way back in 1973 so they’ll be keen to end that run with three points here at 17/4 with BetVictor.

Burnley may have been among the goals so far this season but they come up against a well-organised Wolves backline here. The men in gold have conceded just once so far this season and indeed have scored just once, so we’re expecting the Clarets to revert to type and be involved in a more low-scoring affair with fewer chances here. Under 2.5 goals is our first commended bet at odds of 4/6 with Betfair.

With the home advantage and superior side, we’re backing Wolves to pick up the three points here. The men in gold have been tough to beat at Molineux since returning to the Premier League and despite a tiresome trip to Italy in midweek we still think they’ll be able to grind out a home win to nil here at 7/4 with  Bet365.
