Arsenal will return to the Premier League’s top four if they avoid defeat in their 100th league meeting with Wolves – but we are backing only goal difference to put them above Chelsea.
The Gunners suffered a shock home loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday when manager Unai Emery chose to start some fringe players while resting others and it patently did not work.
Emery has generally got away with some odd-looking line-ups in his first season at Arsenal but not against Palace, his side being beaten 3-2, and we can expect the likes of Nacho Monreal, Lucas Torreira and Alex Iwobi to be back in the first XI at Molineux.
Of more concern potentially is Arsenal’s away form since mid-December, which has been poor on the whole even though they have returned to winning ways recently with back-to-back 1-0 victories at Watford and Napoli.
And they still have three more road trips to go as they fight with Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United for those last two Champions League qualification places.
It is hard to know which version of Wolves will turn up here for they have not reacted well to their agonising FA Cup semi-final defeat, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have enjoyed some excellent results at Molineux against the top clubs this season and could avoid defeat again.
