Wolfsburg host Shakhtar Donetsk for their Europa League clash just days after holding RB Leipzig to a goalless draw at this ground, hoping to build on such a performance and an eight-match unbeaten streak across competitions in search of an advantage ahead of the trip to Ukraine.

Wolves bagged two important wins at this ground beforehand, bating Malmo (2-1) in 16th Finals and Mainz (4-0) in Bundesliga. They have been scoring goals on the regular too and Oliver Glasner will now want a more confident display in the final third, after the line led by Wout Weghorst netted 14 goals in five outings since mid-February.

Shakhtar Donetsk have, on the other hand, bagged exciting wins over Dnipro-1 (4-1) and Kolos Kovalivka (3-4) last week, where conceding four goals hardly came as a worry as Luís Castro’s men scored eight. However, they’ll be in for more of a challenge at Volkswagen Arena and this might take a different approach.
