AFC Wimbledon vs Fleetwood Match Preview
Wimbledon sit rock-bottomed as they host Fleetwood Town for their Matchday 27 clash on Tuesday evening, just days after doing the same for Barnsley in search of important points in attempts to close the gap and escape the red zone – sitting five points behind 20th placed Bristol Rovers.
Dons have picked it up lately and they haven’t suffered a home loss since early November, basing such a chase on such a streak where they bagged eight points in last four outings here.
We now expect them very motivated to build on the 2-3 FA Cup win over the rivals and capitalize on their woes once again, as Fleetwood earned just two points in last four outings – with draws against Shrewsbury (0-0) and Oxford (2-2) as well as the loss to Portsmouth (2-5) on the records.
Fishermen have been scoring goals but their defensive slip-ups proved costly and this will be worrying ahead of the trip to Cherry Red Records Fans’ Stadium. They’ve conceded a high total of ten goals in their last four outings and this promises open spaces for Wimbledon to push for as well.
We will thus stick with Wimbledon to beat the rivals once again and we’ll go for a Home win, which does feel like the best approach to the fixture at this point – in hope Wally Downes’ men can keep up their performances here.
We don’t see it coming easy, though, but we hope to see them turning a narrow occasion their way with Fleetwood’s struggles to regularly score goals on the road. With that in mind, we’ll now go for fewer goals between the sides too with Under 2.5 Goals FT.
