Wigan vs Norwich Match Preview
Wigan saw their winless run stretched to three in midweek as they suffered a 2-1 away loss at Hull City. The result sees Athletic down in 19th and just two points above Rotherham who are currently occupying the last relegation spot. The Lancashire outfit are now set to play back-to-back fixtures against the top two.
At the DW Stadium, the Latics are unbeaten in the last seven with four of the previous five finishing all-square. Three of the last five here have finished in the same 0-0 scoreline. Joe Garner has three goals from his last seven appearances at this ground.
Norwich saw their eight-game winning run come to an end in midweek in a 2-2 draw with Reading. It was a strange game that saw the Canaries dominate only to be 1-0 down going into the 86th minute when two goals in three minutes turned the tie only for the Royals to rescue a point in the 97th minute. The East Anglian outfit are six clear of Leeds and seven of Sheffield United.
Away from Carrow Road, the Canaries have won each of their last four and have lost just two times this season. No side has scored more goals on the road this campaign in the Championship than City have managed. Teemu Pukki has found the back of the net five times in his last six on his travels.
The visitors are favourites to win the game and while not wanting to take them on we also think it is important to respect the home form of Wigan. The match prices look about right and as such looking elsewhere to find the value is the call.
Two of the last three on the road for the Canaries have been level going into the break while the one that did not saw them net in the 45th minute. The Latics meanwhile have seen three of their last five here (including each of their last two) be level going into the interval so this looks the way to go. After the break the game might open some so backing the second-half to be highest scoring also appeals.
