Wigan picked up an important three points before the international break with a 5-2 defeat of Bolton that put to an end a seven-game winless run. They sit in 19th place and find themselves three places and three points above the relegation zone.
At the DW Stadium, the Latics are six without defeat in the Championship with three of these finishing all-square. The last game at this ground produced seven goals but the three prior to that had produced just two in total.
Brentford suffered back-to-back defeats ahead of the international break and has put paid to their play-off aspirations. They are eight points behind Aston Villa in sixth though they do have a game in hand of most of the teams above them.

The visitors are far too short to win this game given they have won on just two occasions on the road this season. Athletic do not appeal as they are also out of form and I need to see more from then than a defeat of Bolton.
Around 70% of the goals Brentford have scored this season have come after the break so I am backing this to be the highest scoring half. I am also interested in taking on the Bees defence as they have been shipping on the road of late. The man I am looking at is Nick Powell who returned to action before the international break to good effect and can make up for lost time here.
