West Brom vs Millwall Match Preview
West Brom host Millwall for their second clash in just days and they look for more from the contest with a League Cup 2nd Round ticket at stake this time around, having been held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday – where Alex Pearce found his own net around the hour mark but Matt Smith’s equalizer meant the sides share the spoils.
Baggies have beaten Nottingham Forest (1-2) in a similarly narrow contest with three goals in the first half-hour, holding on to all three points at the City Ground and surely taking confidence from the upset. Slaven Bilic will hope his men can build on it and show more towards the end on Tuesday.
Millwall have, on the other hand, more to be satisfied from the weekend clash. They’ve also built on a four-point tally having beaten Preston North End (1-0) beforehand, where a single goal from Jed Wallace proved enough for all three points in front of the home crowd.
Lions have been tough defensively and they’ve rediscovered their defensive consistency early in the new campaign. We haven’t really seen that through their pre-season but they now have a lot to build on at the Hawthorns, which promises another tough challenge and a narrow contest.
We do feel West Brom will have what it takes to overcome the challenge this time around, though, and we’re now backing the Home side to earn a spot in the 2nd Round and with a Home win which comes at 10/11 with bet365.
However, we still feel they have to outgun the rivals to secure the points and hoping to see the visitors make it on the scoresheet, we’re sticking with a Yes on Both teams to score at 3/4 with bet365 as well – having seen goals on both ends in five of Millwall’s last six outings.
