Werder Bremen vs Borussia Dortmund Match Preview
Werder Bremen have struggled for points and host Borussia Dortmund amid a troubled streak looking for an escape from the relegation zone, sitting five points behind 15th placed Mainz after seeing four consecutive losses in Bundesliga and only interrupting the streak with a DFB Pokal win over BVB (3-2) two weeks ago.
Bremen saw comfortable losses to Union Berlin (0-2) and RB Leipzig (3-0) since, conceding five goals and failing to find the net themselves along the way. They have been tougher to beat at wohninvest Weserstadion but still struggled defensively and this will be just as worrying ahead of Saturday’s clash.
Borussia Dortmund bounced since their last trip here and bagged all-important wins over Eintracht Frankfurt (4-0) in Bundesliga and PSG (2-1) in Champions League even without injured Marco Reus leading the line. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and will now want to take revenge in Bremen.
BVB have been conceding numbers of goals away from home and that’s surely something Lucien Favre will want to work on. Still, it promises another very exciting contest in the making and has us hoping the visitors will have to outgun Werder Bremen if they’re to snatch the points.
We are thus going for Borussia Dortmund to win and Over 2.5 Goals FT, which looks like a generous banker bet at 3/4 with Paddy Power and has already caught the eye of many heavy hitters as the best approach to the fixture.
Indeed, both sides have been scoring goals but struggled to keep it together and this feels like further evidence for such a bet. Jadon Sancho has found the net in four of his last five Bundesliga appearances and with hope we’re in for a high-scoring game once again, we’ll back him to score anytime at Evens with Paddy Power too!
