Watford vs Sheffield United Match Preview
Watford have proven themselves a tougher nut to crack in front of the home fans more recently but they can still hardly be satisfied with much, as they sit rock-bottomed with just two points in seven Premier League outings and a -16 goal difference. They now host Sheffield United desperate to pick it up and go on a break in good spirits.
Hornets beat Swansea (2-1) in League Cup last time out at Vicarage Road but saw another disappointment on their trip to Wolverhampton (2-0), which could be hard to bounce from again. They held Newcastle (1-1) and Arsenal (2-2) to draws ahead of their thrashing 8-0 loss to Man City, which could have them looking for an actual upset here.
Sheffield United have seen similar woes lately and they come into the match with three home losses suffered in their last four outings, with only a win at Everton (0-2) with an own goal from Yerri Mina and a late goal from Lys Mousset interrupting the unwanted streak.
Blades have failed to find the net in all of the three losses, as they saw Southampton (0-1) and Liverpool (0-1) snatch the points at Bramall Lane and Sunderland (0-1) make their way into the League Cup 8th Finals past them along the way. They will now have to show more but we feel they can at this point.
We’ll thus stick with Sheffield United to snatch at least a point here, going for a Double Chance – Draw or Away win at 7/10 with William Hill – which feels like the best approach to the Saturdays’ fixture at this point.
We expect a narrow occasion, though, and thin margins could make all the difference. We feel Blades will have to do their job defensively if they’re to do so, which also has us going for few goals and Under 2.5 Goals FT at 9/10 with bet365.
