Crystal Palace reached the FA Cup Final at Watford’s expense three years ago and may just book another trip to Wembley by getting past the Hornets.

Connor Wickham scored the winner for the Eagles in that 2016 semi-final before they lost to Manchester United in the trophy decider, and it is far from impossible that lightning will strike twice and Palace get a chance for revenge two months from now.

But first, Roy Hodgson’s side must come through an away tie against a Watford team who are targeting Europe – either by winning this season’s FA Cup or finishing seventh in the Premier League and hoping one of the two Manchester clubs wins at Wembley on May 18.

Palace’s away form this term has been much better than their home results and that is why we fancy them to cause an upset at Vicarage Road – they have triumphed twice as often on the road in the league and lost only one out of seven on their travels in all competitions.

Watford have been solid on their own pitch over the last few months, but this tie looks like being a tight affair and, whether it is settled in 90 minutes or not, Palace are backed to sneak through.
