Burnley have turned the page with the turn of the year and they travel to Watford looking to take revenge for a 1-3 home loss suffered to the rivals earlier this term, coming into the match on the back of a four-match winning streak across competitions.
Clarets have beaten West Ham (2-0), Huddersfield (1-2), Fulham (2-1) and aside from bagging the important Premier League points, Sean Dyche’s men made it to the 4th Round of FA Cup over Barnsley – where a last-gasp penalty-kick winner from Chris Wood made all the difference.
Watford host the contest on the back of a winning streak of their own, where they beat Woking (0-2) and Crystal Palace (1-2) in two good performances on the road and extended a streak of four games without a loss. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals and proven themselves a tough side to beat, promising a great challenge now once again.
Hornets have seen a tough schedule in front of the home crowd and struggled for such pick-me-ups, though, only beating Cardiff (3-2) in last five outings at Vicarage Road. They’ve seen Liverpool (0-3), Man City (1-2), Chelsea (1-2), and Newcastle (1-1) snatch spoils along the way and ending the streak will be a task for Javi Gracia.
We’ll now stick our necks out for Burnley to capitalize on such troubles, though, and going for a Double Chance –Draw or Away win seems great value at 13/10 with Coral – despite their more lenient schedule helping lift the dressing room spirits.
