Watford vs Burnley Predictions
Watford are looking to get their season back on track in the coming weeks after a dreadful start to the campaign leaves them languishing in the relegation zone after 12 matches. That being said, it’s remarkable that the Hornets aren’t actually bottom of the table given that they only won their first match of the campaign on their last outing, a 0-2 away victory over Norwich City before the international break.
With Quique Sanches Flores returning to the club as the replacement for the outgoing Javi Gracia, it seems as though the Hertfordshire outfit have now got their eyes set of rising not only out of the bottom three but higher up the table – although they will need to start stringing some wins together, starting with a first home victory of the season here. You can back them to get the three points at odds of 27/20 with Unibet.
Burnley continue to be one of the more difficult Premier League teams to break down under Sean Dyche. The ‘Ginger Mourinho’ as he is affectionately known among the Turf Moor fanbase, started his managerial career at Watford but has become a legend at his current club and he looks set for another solid if unspectacular campaign with his team currently occupying 10th position in the table after 12 fixtures.
The Clarets have been excellent on home soil so far this season, winning four of their six Turf Moor outings including a 3-0 thumping of West Ham in their last match, although they’ve struggled to replicate that form on the road. The Lancastrians are yet to manage an away win in the Premier League this season but you can back them to end that run with a win at Vicarage Road at odds of 23/10 with Bet365.
We anticipate a low-scoring affair here. Burnley have found the net only once over the course of their last two away games at Sheffield United and Leicester City and they’ll look to keep things rigid defensively. Watford’s games have been low-scoring all season really – under 2.5 goals have been scored in all but one of their last seven games in all competitions. That’s why we’re backing the same bet here at 4/5 with Bet365.
We’re struggling to pick a winner between these two teams though. Watford have not won a home game yet, but they’ve drawn a lot of games already this season, tying five matches so far this term. Burnley meanwhile have managed a few away draws against Brighton, Wolves and Aston Villa so far this season despite not picking up a win on the road as yet so we can see these two sides cancelling each other out for a draw at odds of 23/10 with Betfair.
