Wales vs Slovakia Match Preview
Wales host Slovakia looking for important points on Sunday, just days after returning to the winning ways with a friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago (1-0) where a last-minute winner from Benjamin Woodburn made all the difference at Racecourse Ground in Wrexham.
Dragons have struggled for consistency and this was their only second win in six outings, with four losses also on the records. The 1-2 home loss to Denmark saw them fall short of a Nations League A spot next term and regaining high team spirits will now be a crucial task for Ryan Giggs.
Slovakia, on the other hand, come into the match just days after hosting Hungary for their EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash and Pavel Hapal will hope his men can produce in Wales. They’ve struggled on the road, though, and this will be more worrying as they search for their first win on the road since June 2017.
Falcons have seen very narrow losses at Ukraine (1-0) and Czech Republic (1-0) in their last two competitive trips and they will need more for an upset on the day. We thus feel they’ll be very motivated to cope in the final third and look very dangerous in the midfield.
However, we don’t see them snatching anything from the fixture and we’ll now stick our necks out for Wales to bag the all-important points, going for a Home win here at 11/10 with bet365 – which has caught the eye of many in the know.
We do feel the visitors will now get on the scoresheet in an exciting contest, though, and we’ll thus also back a Yes on Both teams to score at 11/10 with Paddy Power. We’ve seen them scoring goals more regularly under Pavel Hapal and we now hope for more of the same.
