Vitebsk have seen a busy transfer market and kick off the new Premier League campaign hosting Gorodeya on Saturday, hoping Sergey Yasinskiy’s overhaul can show results early on and that they can put a very disappointing 2019 season behind them – where they only just escaped relegation.
Visseblyane haven’t really been able to impress through their pre-season, though, and this will be more worrying. They come into the match after suffering a 1-2 loss to Naftan last week, as their fourth loss in seven outings emphasized defensive woes once again. They conceded 15 goals along the way and will need more if they’re to get off on the right foot.
Gorodeya, on the other hand, take on a 200-mile-long trip on the back of a three-match winning streak, where they outclassed 3rd tier Arsenal Dzyarzhynsk (1-3) as well as Naftan (4-1) and Neman Grodno (2-1). They will now want to build on the success and replicate a performance we’ve seen at this ground back in August, when they snatched the points with two second-half goals.
Oleg Radushko left his mark on the outfit over the winter too and we’ve seen them struggling to impress defensively just as well. 23-year-old Artem Arkhipov will lead an in-form attacking line, though, and we feel they will be able to cope well at Stadyen Central’ny Vitsyebski.
We don’t see the visitors coming away with all three points but we feel they’ll be very tough to outgun, which has us sticking our necks out for a Draw on Saturday – which comes at an enticing 21/10 with bet365.
