Villarreal have shocked Zenit at St Petersburg Stadium last week despite a very unpredictable run across competitions, snatching a 1-3 win and making a huge step towards the Quarter-finals as Vicente Iborra, Gerard Moreno, and Manu Morlanes all made on the scoresheet.
Yellow Submarine have thus ended a three-match winless streak once again and we’ve also seen them build on the success with an important La Liga win at Levante, where they found the net twice in injury time. They will now want to keep up the streak and we expect them very motivated again.
Indeed, Zenit seemingly came into the contest in a better place after beating Fenerbahce (3-1) and Ural (0-1), only to see a goal from in-form Sardar Azmoun nothing more but a consolation in the first leg. They will now want to take revenge but should be in for more of a task.
Lvi have bounced back to the winning ways in the meantime and we’ve seen them beat Ufa (2-1), where Azmoun found the net again and Rigoni added one to complete a comeback in front of the home fans. However, they’ll now need even more to overturn this one and we don’t see Sergei Semak’s men doing so.
We’ll thus back Villarreal to secure their ticket to the next round with a Home win, which comes at Evens with William Hill and would be their third win in a row – a streak they’d thus connect for the first time this term.
