Villarreal vs Valencia Match Preview
Villarreal have seen their woes in La Liga confirmed once again as Real Betis (2-1) secured all three points in a thriller at Benito Villamarin to send them back to the relegation zone after 30 games played. The Europa League success has been the only bright spot for Javi Calleja’s men and they now host Valencia for their Quarter-finals clash hoping to keep it up.
Yellow Submarine have indeed been scoring numbers of goals but this meant very little as they fell victims to Celta Vigo (3-2) and only earned a point against pace-setters Barcelona (4-4) when it already felt they have the full spoils in the bag. They now desperately need a pick-me-up and this feels like a great chance to grab it.
However, Valencia will be no easy targets at Estadio de la Ceramica despite a 2-0 loss at Rayo Vallecano now behind them, where goals from Raul de Tomas and Mario Suarez ended their 17-match unbeaten streak across competitions since late January.
Los Che have beaten Sevilla (0-1) and Real Madrid (2-1) in two outings beforehand and few would have hoped for such a slip-up at Estadio de Vallecas, which should still see Marcelino picking up their team spirits with ease – as the visitors seem to be in a much better place at this point.
We will still back Villarreal to hold them off and we’ll go for a Draw at 11/5 with bet365, hoping to see a thriller but not really seeing a winner come away with an advantage ahead of the second-leg contest at Mestalla.
We should be in for goals and both sides hold such a promise with in-form attacking lines on both ends, as we now also back a Yes on Both teams to score at 10/11 with bet365 – which feels like great value despite the high stakes involved and possibly a more cautious approach on both ends here.
