Villarreal vs Sevilla Match Preview
Sevilla have had a hard time bouncing back from a thrashing 6-1 Copa del Rey loss suffered at Barcelona, seeing a 1-0 loss at Celta Vigo and a 2-2 home draw against Eibar – where only late goals from Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia saved a point at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
However, Sevillistas now travel to Villarreal for their Matchday 24 clash having ended the unwanted streak with an important Europa League win at Lazio (0-1), where a single goal from Ben Yedder proved enough to earn an advantage. We now expect them very motivated to build on their top 4 spot and Pablo Machin should have no troubles lifting their team spirits.
Villarreal have seen a troubled streak of their own and consequently sit in the relegation zone with just 20 points earned in 23 outings. They’ve bagged a 0-1 win over Sporting CP midway through the week with an early goal from Alfonso Pedraza and will now want to build on it, but Javi Calleja’s men have a lot to prove.
Yellow Submarine only ended a ten-match winless streak where they saw seven draws and three losses, showing off as a tough to beat but still hardly resembling stability and confidence. They should now need more and it’s questionable whether Villarreal have it.
We will thus stick with Sevilla to snatch the points in an exciting clash at Estadio de la Ceramica, going for an Away win and a Yes on Both teams to score at an eye-catching 9/5 with Betfair.
With that in mind, it’s easy to make a case for a high-scoring contest and we’ve seen Over 2.5 Goals FT attract support from many in the know at 4/5 with Betfred. We’ve seen three or more goals in two of both sides’ respective last four outings and this looks like further evidence for such a bet.
