Valencia host Villarreal for their Matchday 21 La Liga clash looking to recuperate quickly after seeing a 1-0 Copa del Rey loss at Getafe, which saw their three-match unbeaten streak across competitions ended and will have them chasing a goal in front of the home fans next week.
Los Che have held off Real Valladolid (1-1) and beat both Sporting Gijon (3-0) and Celta Vigo (1-2) in three outings before and we feel Marcelino’s men are in better shape at this point, as they promise a strong challenge at Mestalla once again in search of points to catch up with the league’s top 6.
Villarreal have been putting on tough challenges lately but this will hardly be enough as they still search for their first win in over a month, where just 18 points to their name after 20 outings has them sitting in the relegation zone.
Luis Garcia has done little to relieve the pressure since taking over and Yellow Submarine now come into the match after ending a streak of two losses with a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao, where a second-half goal from Toko Ekambi secured a point in front of the home fans.
We don’t see Villarreal managing any on the day, though, and we’ll now stick with Valencia to bag all three in a Home win priced at 19/20 with Black Type. We have seen Los Che turning clashes their way and we expect them very motivated to capitalize on the rivals’ woes.
Still, we feel the visitors will get on the scoresheet too and with both sides scoring and conceding goals on the regular, backing a Yes on Both teams to score feels like the best approach to the fixture at 4/5 with William Hill.
